The Policing and Community Safety Authority has published the scope and terms of reference for its first two inspections in 2026.
The inspection work of the PCSA is a key element of our oversight of An Garda Síochána.
The PCSA has committed to undertaking four inspections this year. The first two to commence will examine:
–Risk management in garda custody
–Resolution of calls for service without dispatching gardaí
The other two inspections will examine:
-The policing of bail conditions by An Garda Síochána
-The management and storage of biological samples by An Garda Síochána
