The Policing and Community Safety Authority met in public with the Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly at the Grand Hotel in Malahide on Thursday 26 February.

The meeting opened with a focus on the statutory Policing Priority to Provide a Consistent, Supportive, Quality Service.

There were questions on progress on the implementation of recommendations from the Garda Síochána Inspectorate report on domestic abuse, as well as conduct and discipline within the service.

The Commissioner also faced questions on the recently published Review of the Recommendations on Countering the Threat of Internal Corruption.

The final topic discussed was road safety under the Policing Priority to Work in Partnership to Meet Community Needs.

The questions focused on the policing approach to dangerous and anti-social use of vehicles, including scramblers, e-scooters and bikes.

The next meeting of the PCSA and Garda Commissioner will be in private on Thursday 26 March.

The next meeting in public will be in Cork on Thursday 30 April.
